The heavy plate rollingmill on the border of industrial aglomeration Duisburg-Hüttenheim was founded in 1963 by Mannesmann company. The plates were used by neighbouring large diameter pipe welding shop until 1970 when the mill was taken over by August Thyssen Hütte AG.

In 1978 the rolling mill has been modernized completely and 3,9 meters high rolling stand was installed here by SACK company. It is still in use today.
