Rubiera Special Steel S.p.A. traces its roots to 1965, when it was founded as Acciaieria di Rubiera by Franco Testi in Emilia-Romagna. Early on, the company focused on high-integrity steels and in 1970 became the first Italian steelworks to adopt vacuum degassing, a process that significantly improved steel quality.

Through the 1990s and 2000s, ongoing investments advanced production technologies and product range. In 2013, under the ownership of the Galperti family —s teel industry veterans with nearly a century of experience — the company was renamed Rubiera Special Steel S.p.A., marking a new phase of growth.

Today, Rubiera Special Steel is recognized globally for producing high-performance special and stainless steels, serving demanding sectors from power generation to Oil & Gas.
