První brněnská kovárna, PBK Kladno
Poldi Hütte was established in 1889 in close neighbourhood with former Vojtech steelworks in Kladno, Czech Republic. Founded by industrialist Karl Wittgenstein, father of famous philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein.
In 1908 the very first electrical arc furnace in whole Austro-Hungarian Empire was put in operation here and in 1915 Frick´s furnace, former largest induction furnace in the world was tapped for the first time.
After the fall of communist era the works were divided into several smaller companies. One of them is PBK Kladno, the very last active forge in Kladno today.
