The Nunki Steel plant in San Giorgio di Nogaro near Udine was built in 1976 by Leali Steel company.
However the plant went bankrupt later one and the production was reoriented towards granulated steel.
Even these commercial activities did not bring the desired results and the plant was abandoned again.

The GIVA group bought the whole plant in 2007 and equipped the original halls with state-of-the-art units - a 90t electric arc furnace, 2 ladle furnaces, a VOD and a casting bay with the ability to cast ingots up to 200 tonnes.

Nunki Steel´s capacity is 350,000 tonnes of steel per annum.
