The ferroalloy smelting plant in Weisweiler was founded in 1917.
It is part of the Turkish AFARAK Group since 2008 and produces ferrochrome, ferromanganese, ferromolybdenum and ferrotungsten alloys. Ore is imported from its own mines in Turkey.
