ArcelorMittal Resende
One of the first Brazilian mills built in this century can be found near the municipality of Resende in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
It was commissioned by Votorantim Siderurgia in 2009 to meet the needs of growing construction and agricultural market.
It merged with ArcelorMittal in 2017 and one year later Votorantim Siderurgia became its subsidiary.
The mini-mill in Resende produces reinforcing bars and hot rolled and drawn steel wire.
