The private owned forge Açoforja Indústria de Forjados in the suburb of Belo Horizonte was founded in 1973.
With a forging capacity of up to 20 tonnes, it is currently one of the most important forges in Brazil.

The production programme is focused on products for the mining, metallurgical and shipping industries.
