Metalsider Betim

Metalsider started pig iron production in 1984 with two charcoal blast furnaces.
In the following years it expanded its capacity by acquiring five additional blast furnaces on neighbouring properties (former Siderurgica Vizinha) that had been in operation since the 1940s, when the industrialization of Betim has started.

A modern grey iron foundry was built in 2016.

Today, Metalsider is one of the major industrial enterprises on the outskirts of the metropolis of Belo Horizonte.
