Mine "Boże Dary" (God´s gifts) in southern part of Katowice was established between 1901-1903. Former name "Böer" was given after local mining engineer, who was in charge for deeping the pit. At the same time nearby settlement "Böerschächte" was built.
In 1937 the mine received new name "Boże Dary" which is in use until today.
After nationalization in 1958 the works are merged into "Mikołowskie Zjednoczenie Przemysłu Węglowego" group. Since 1976 the coal extraction was transfered to neighbouring "Murcki" mine.
The shutdown and slow demolition has begun in 2015.
