Asonext Ospitaletto

The modern steel plant "ASO Acciai Speciali Ospitaletto" in the industrial province of Brescia was founded by the metallurgical chemist Aldo Artioli with the aim of producing quality special steel ingots.

It all started with the first 10t electric arc furnace in 1972.
In 1980 the first ladle furnace and a VOD unit were installed.

In 2002 the original arc furnace was replaced by a 50t EAF and the secondary metallurgy was expanded with the second ladle furnace.
The third ladle furnace was installed in 2006.

Due to the increasing demand for special steels, a 35t induction furnace was commissioned in 2008, which was supplemented by a second 45t induction furnace ten years later.


Asonext focuses on the production of ingots for the needs of the mining, petrochemical, aerospace, mechanical and naval industries.
