United Cast Bar, the foundry

The history of the foundry in Chesterfield is dating back to 1923 when Robert Hyde established his first works here. The foundry was active until 1989 and left empty for 10 years.

United Cast Bar in Chesterfield, UK was formed in 1998 by the merger of three of Europe´s most prestigious continuous cast iron bar foundries.

The former foundry was completely revamped, old cupola furnaces replaced by a pair of 8 tonnes induction furnaces and a horizontal continuous caster was put into operation soon after.

Today United Cast Bar is one of the leading cast bar companies in the world.
