SaarStahl Ascoval, Saint-Saulve
The modern steel mill near the city of Valenciennes was built in 1975 to expand the production capacities of Vallourec company.
The production of steel for seamless pipes was handled by a 90 t electric arc furnace with subsequent secondary metallurgy and continuous casting machine.
In addition to the pipe mill nextdoors, the steel alloys are also processed by the radial forging machine.
In 2016 Vallourec sells part of the operations and Asco Industries became the majority owner, the Ascoval was born.
In 2021 Ascoval became part of the german Saarstahl group.
