Metallurgica Marcora
The Marcora company, founded in 1878 by Giuseppe Marcora, started the business as a foundry. A key milestone came in 1908 when the company expanded its production by cold-drawn and cold-rolled profiles.
In 1931, the company commissioned three new steel melting furnaces and a small seamless tube rolling mill, strengthening its position in the market. Another significant step forward was the installation of a hot rolling mill in 1950, which enabled increased production capacity.
In 1995, a decision was made to relocate the old mill from the city center of Busto Arsizio to a new site in Cuggiono. Since then, production has focused exclusively on rolled profiles.
The latest major innovation occurred in 2006 when the former trio rolling stand was replaced with a new roughing stand.
