Maxhütte Sulzbach-Rosenberg

Maxhütte, situated just close to the czech border, used to be a metallurgical center of Bavaria for many years and the last part of famous Bayerische Eisenstrasse at the same time.
Ironworks were founded in the middle of 19th centry and were active till 2002. From unique blast furnaces construction only BF no.3 survived up to today. Technically unique bucket-elevator was demolished few years ago unfortunately.
