koksownia Orzegów

In part of Ruda Ślaska called Orzegów we can find a spectacular monument of former coke plant Karol (part of colliery Karol) built in 1903 and active without a modernisation until it´s final shutdown in 1976.

Uniqueness of this site is in it´s manual coking process (pushing and quenching as well) what was common in the beginning of 20th century. And it is surprising that this process survived unchanged until the very end of this plant.

Abandoned for over 30 years now, rumors about technical museum conversion appeared few years ago.
