Grey-iron foundry situated in northen part of Svitavy town was established in 1948 as a part of national enterprise TOS Svitavy.
The production was oriented on cases, beddings, supports, headstocks, stands and components for textile and food industry since the very beginnings.
With two former 700mm cold-blast cupola furnaces this direction is held until today.
Svitavy foundry is typical example of small compact smelting facility which used to be common in almost every czech town during the 20th century.
