Huta Katowice

The giant mill in Dabrowa Gornicza district was built between 1972 - 76 under name "Huta Katowice". Continuous pig iron production were interrupted here only in the beginning of 2009 due to the global steel crisis. Nowadays two blast furnaces are in operation. Blast furnace no. 1 is iddled.

Steel plant operates with three 350 t BOF converters, continuous caster and two rolling mills (heavy and middle section).

Since 2007 the works are part of ArcelorMittal corporation.
