Two brothers Alessandro and Enrico Mora decided to set up a small aluminium and bronze foundry in Sopraponte di Gavardo in 1945.
Due to the steeply increasing demand, after only three years they moved to larger premises and set up a new plant with two cupola furnaces in former stables in Gavardo. This step allowed to expanded the portfolio by cast iron.
But even this was not enough and in 1960 construction of a modern foundry in the suburbs of Mora has begun. The production of aluminium castings gradually declined in the 1970s and the Mora foundry became fully focused on grey cast iron castings.
Today, the foundry is part of the Camozzi Group with an annual capacity of 32,000 tonnes of cast iron. The melt shop with five induction furnaces is capable of producing castings from 1kg to 120 tonnes.
