Eissengiesserei Karlshütte, iron foundry

The foundry at the outskirts of Bünde was built in 1949 as one of the subsidiaries of the Imperial Werke Group, owned by the Thiele family.

In 1989, Imperial Werke sold its plant to Miele. The foundry continues as an independent company under the name "Imperial-Werke Gießerei GmbH".

The meltshop with pair of cupola furnace was extended by an induction furnace in 1997. The foundry is currently focusing on small series cast from iron and aluminum.
