důl Československé Armády / důl Karviná

The ČSA mine is located in the north-eastern part of the Ostrava-Karviná district and its history dates back to the foundation of Karel mine in 1859.

After the nationalization, the mine was merged with Jan, Františka, Jindřich and Hlubina collieries and formed the ČSA mine.

In 1995, another merger took place with the Doubrava mine (shutdown in 2006).

The mining operations at ČSA mine were ceased in 2021 for good.
