The Bielszowice coal mine, located in Ruda Śląska, Silesia, has been active since the early 20th century. Built between 1896 and 1904 by the Prussian Treasury, it underwent multiple restructurings over the years.
After being operated by the Franco-Polish company Skarboferm, it was nationalized and later merged with the Zabrze mine in 1976 to form "Zabrze-Bielszowice."
Since 2016, it has been part of the KWK Ruda complex under Polska Grupa Górnicza.
In 2018, the mine employed around 2,910 people, with coal extracted mainly at depths of 840 to 1,000 meters. Its long history mirrors the political and industrial shifts of the region over more than a century.
