Kopalnia Węgla Kamiennego Anna

The history of Anna coal mine has begun in 1832, when Ferdinand Friedrich Agust Fritze bought exploitation rights at Pszow grounds and the mine was opened by pit "Fund". In 1856 pit Jan (Johannes) was deepened, followed by pit Rudolf (today Chrobry I) few years later.
In 1913 renowned german architect Hans Poelzig was put into charge for construction of new power plant and engine house for Chrobry I pit.

During the 2nd World War the mines was operating under Hermann Göring works.

After the nationalization the mine was largely modernized. New pit Ryszard II was deepend in 1960 and pit Chrobry II in 1965.

In 2004 the mine the entire mine was merged with Rydultowy colliery what lead into slow and controlled shutdown until 2012.

Today the overall demolition is in progress and everything except Poelzig´s power plant and engine house will be torn down soon.
