Koksovna Koněv, Kladno

With increasing steel production in Vojtech ironworks nearby a decission to build a separate coke plant was made in 1942.

First coke was quenched two years later with respectable annual production of 198 thousand tons.

Battery no.3 with 36 chambers was built in 1976.

After the blast furnace department shutdown in 1976 the production switched to heating coke mainly.
The coke plant survived until late 80´s.

Today only concrete frames of coal bunker and coal sorting plant are dominating the post-industrial landscape here.
